Aman arrested for issuing Aadhar cards on the basis of forged documents allegedly committed suicide in police lock-up. Poonam Dantani (28) hanged himself using a bedsheet from the ventilation window of toilet at the lock-up of Gujarat University police station, said ACP A K Parmar. Poonam Dantani (28) was arrested by the police for his alleged role in fake Aadhar card case along with three others on Wednesday evening. In the wee hours of Thursday, the police station officer (PSO) was doing rounds of the station when he found Poonam missing from the lockup.

The PSO told an inmate to check the toilet. Poonam, who is physically challenged, was found hanging from the toilet window grill with a bedsheet. A month ago Poonam quit his job at an Aadhar card outsourcing agency behind Sahajanand College in Ambavadi. ilak Tuni, owner of the agency along two Nepalese Dilbahadur and Nurbahadur too were arrested. Tilak Tuni and Poonam Dantani made fake Aadhar cards for the Nepalese men.

Ashutosh Parmar ACP said, “We are conducting a panel post-mortem of Poonam and have started probe in the matter. Two months ago we received an application from the chairman of Kalash apartmentin Navrangpura. He stated they had appointed two Nepali men, Dilbahadur and Narbahadur for work, and they had submitted Aadhar as ID proof. We detained the duo and during questioning they confessed that Tilak Tuli and Poonam had prepared their Aadhar cards. ”
